Hello,
My name is Dan Wilson, and I am a candidate for Lafayette County School Board Zone 5.
I am a lifelong member of the Lafayette County community. I graduated from Stamps High School in 1972 and earned my Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Arkansas University in 1977. I later continued my education at Texas A&M–Texarkana, where I earned my Master of Science degree in 1999. My educational journey reflects my belief in lifelong learning and the importance of strong schools.
As a third-generation member of a farming family, I have proudly called Lafayette County home for more than 40 years. My deep roots in this community give me a strong understanding of our values, our challenges, and our opportunities for growth.
I am an active member of First Baptist Church of Stamps and Rotary, and I have consistently supported organizations and initiatives that strengthen our county. I care deeply about the future of Lafayette County and the success of our children.
As our district enters a new chapter under new leadership, I believe we have an important opportunity to expand educational access, improve student outcomes, and strengthen partnerships between our schools, parents, and community. With thoughtful planning and strong support from the school board, these changes can position our district for long-term success.
If elected to the Zone 5 School Board, I pledge to:
-
Prioritize student success
-
Support responsible and transparent leadership
-
Strengthen community involvement in our schools
-
Advocate for opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, and life
I am committed to sustaining and improving Lafayette County’s education system for current and future generations.
May God bless our country and community.
— Dan Wilson
